Deadline with financial aid: postmark January 18, 2008
We are no longer accepting applications for the July 2008 Summer Composition Program.
To apply to the Composition program simply download the appropriate application forms, fill them out, and mail them to the indicated address (included on the application forms) along with the required materials listed below.
All applicants must submit the following with their applications:
- Curriculum vitae, including musical background, formal education, and teachers.
- A one or two paragraph statement discussing the relevance of Counterpoint for you in Composition.
- Most representative work with score and tape (if possible).
- One Letter of Recommendation
- $50 Application processing fee before January 18, 2008, ($75 for students outside the U.S.) (a check or money order payable to European American Musical Alliance, Inc.)
- $75 Application processing fee after January 18, 2008.
- A self-addressed stamped envelope for the return of your materials
Returning Composition Students
Must submit the above materials, except c.v. and letter of recommendation. In lieu of the essay, please submit a one or two paragraph statement discussing a specific example of how the contrapuntal training you received at the Composition Program has affected the way in which you compose and see music.
If you wish to apply for financial assistance you must also include a
financial evaluation form with your application. Please note: Only tuition scholarships are available, and awards are limited.
