Nadia Boulanger is among the foremost master teachers of music. Influencing many of the world's illustrious composers and performers of the 20th Century, she demanded of all her students a profound mastery of the fundamental crafts of music. The EAMA Summer Piano Program in Paris recreates this unique musicianship training, offering students the rare opportunity to work intensively on these fundamental crafts.
Jerome Rose of the Mannes College of Music will be giving classes during the July 2005 session.
The founders, Narcis Bonet and Philip Lasser, J.Y. Song, the co-director, and the core faculty share the vision and the commitment to impart this rich musical tradition to emerging young artists.
The curriculum, building upon Nadia Boulanger's vision, includes frequent piano lessons, a choice of counterpoint or keyboard harmony, and choral singing. Interested students may choose to receive composition lessons to work on cadenzas and original compositions.
In addition, distinguished pianists and scholars are invited each summer to give master classes and lectures. Master Class offerings vary from year to year, so for more information please consult the Master Classes page.
